The successful candidate shall be accountable for the preparation, negotiation, and management of complex proposals and/or contract activities in accordance with company policies, legal and customer requirements with limited guidance or supervision from the Contracts Director. The successful candidate will need to interpret and communicate business commitments and alternatives to program teams and management while proactively managing contractual scope, customer communication and expectations. In addition to supporting active programs, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of personnel. The successful candidate must have prior management experience preferably with teams not located at one central work location. This position requires an extensive knowledge of government contracting methods, applicable laws and regulations and the ability to develop and maintain professional and dependable relationships with both internal and external customers, especially in challenging and sometimes demanding situations. This position will also require the selected candidate to work both on unclassified and classified programs. Candidate should have an understanding of FAR Part 12 and be able to support and lead a mix of commercial contracts. Given the shifting dynamics within the working environment, the successful candidate will also be in the position to work a hybrid work arrangement. When in the office, the work team will be located at our Manassas, VA facility. Required Education, Experience, & Skills We are looking for someone with a Bachelor''s Degree and 10+ years of related contracts experience or equivalent experience in DoD contracting. The successful candidate must have an existing Secret Clearance and be capable of upgrading to Top Secret level.We are looking for candidates that are strong team players who enjoy working with program management and other functional disciplines in a supportive and complementary manner. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for this position as well has having the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.The successful candidate must also have experience managing a team. Pursuant to a specific US Government contract, selected candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills* JD or MBA degree in Business or related field.* Experience with Government contracting and FAR Part 12 contracting* The successful candidate must have an existing Secret Clearance and be capable of upgrading to Top Secret level shortly after assuming the role.
