The purpose of this position is to observe, detect, deter, and report security related incidents that pose potential risks and threats to company assets. The CGS Security Officer also provides alarm monitoring, emergency response support, incident notifications, physical patrols, and other security related services.Daily Responsibilities :Professionally represent Corning Incorporated and the Global Security Division by performing duties including, but not limited to: Support emergency response situations including fire, medical, and hazardous material incidents Provide local site physical security through means of patrols, access control, and monitoring Provide a wide range of customer service related tasks Communicate directly with Corning employees as a primary first-contact/first-report for all questions and concerns pertaining to security Provide documentation and notification of daily activity and incidents Providing as-needed support for various security operations such as private and public events and projects that require security support Shift work that provides 24hr security coverageMinimum Qualifications: High School Diploma / GED with 2yrs security related experience Valid drivers license Ability to obtain a valid New York State security guard licenseRequired Skills: Strong customer service skills Strong team player with an professional interpersonal style Aptitude for clear and effective writing under time-sensitive conditions Strong telephone and face-to-face verbal communication skills Flexibility to work all shifts and a willingness to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime Ability to multitask and work independently Sound operational judgment and decision making Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality and integrity Comfortable working with various computer programs Advanced experience with Microsoft Office suite Comfortable learning and adapting to new operational tools and processes Cultural sensitivityDesired Skills: 2 Year College A.S. degree or 5yrs of security related experience Advanced experience with Microsoft Office suite Advanced experience with security operations including technological systems, such as access control systems, CCTV, incident reporting systems Current New York State Licensed Security GuardWe prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, gender, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, veteran status or any other legally protected status.We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment.
