In this job, you''ll ensure compliance with plans, specification and quality of workmanship on the installation of conduit and structures for new development. As a Quality Control Inspector, Specialist, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Perform on-site inspections of new residential tract and developer substructure installations. Verify compliance with Edison standards, applicable construction requirements, industry standards and local governing agency standards. Measure and recording the location of Edison facilities, accounting for deviations, creating as-built drawings and communicating status of construction and inspection activities as required. Utilize database systems to access and input information. Recognize dangerous conditions and working in a safe manner that is in compliance with the Edison Accident Prevention Manual. Work with confidential and/or sensitive information. Frequently drive within Edison''s service territory. Engage in continuous learning and stay up to date with relevant technology and innovations. Perform other underground inspection duties and responsibilities as assigned. QualificationsThe essentials Three or more years of experience performing surveillance and inspections, or civil construction, or civil engineering, or civil drafting. Valid U.S. Driver''s License. The preferred Three or more years of experience performing surveillance and inspections in the civil construction field. Two or more years of basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficient with AutoCad and Autodesk Design Review. Two or more years of experience with utility underground construction practices, specifications and requirements, including the Underground Structures (UGS) Manual, GO128 and related industry standards. The UGS Manual is available to the general public and can be downloaded from our website. Two or more years of experience reading and understanding work order drawings, surveys and utility substructure maps. Experience managing multiple tasks with conflicting schedules and limited timelines. One or more years of experience drawing as-built maps. Two or more years of experience giving functional direction to contractor and support personnel. Ability to accurately analyze information and make sound decisions. Able to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices. Three or more years of experience integrating work across relevant areas, managing risks appropriately, developing and executing business plans, and providing exceptional service to internal and external customers. Two or more years of experience with Project Management functions such as effective resource and project planning, tracking and decision-making. You should know ... Work Mode: When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position''s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
