Department:Information Technology (IT)Reports To: Director of ITLocation: City WideFLSA Status: Non-exemptClassification: C-41This position requires 65% travel throughout the City.SUMMARYThis position aims to provide technical support to all users and systems within the City of Angleton.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the individual(s) assigned to this position. The position description is subject to change by the City as the needs of the City and requirements of the position change.Gathers information and data for various IT projects to increase user efficiency; creates new and updated workplace toolsPresents IT information and guidance that could lead to actionable events or purchasesProvides information and guidance on how to complete departmental tasks from a technological perspective effectivelyEnforces IT policies and proceduresAnswers calls for tech support; responds to emergency calls or emails for supportImplements IT projects for departments within the City as directedInstalls and upgrades software for users and vendors; performs upkeep, management, and administration of IT systemsDelivers and installs purchased equipment and recommends the purchase of various equipment and softwareCreates training documentation for users; speaks to groups of co-workers regarding training and answers questions Performs related work as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESTo perform in this position successfully, individual(s) must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The city reserves the right to allow substitutions if a candidate or incumbent exceeds requirements in one area but may be deficient in another.Education and/or ExperienceThe position requires an Associate''s Degree or specialized courses/training equivalent to the satisfactory completion of two years of college, with two years of experience in information technology or a closely related field.
