Our employees are not only part of history, theyre making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Associate Mission Payload Systems Engineer to work in San Jose, CaliforniaThe Associate Mission Payload Systems Engineer will support architecture trades, design analysis, requirement thread, segment interface development and ownership, and performance modeling through computer simulation. This individual will provide systems engineering support to hardware developments for space, and ground systems utilizing state-of-the-art optical (sensing, communications, directed energy),RF, digital and microelectronics. Project roles span all phases of product development cycle, from new business acquisition, and IRAD/ technology development to established programs delivering integrated hardware and software systems. Systems engineering activities include system architecture design, trade studies, specification development, requirement definition and allocation, performance analysis and simulation; system modeling and simulation tool development, payload product development, support to hardware design, subcontract leadership, management and selection, manufacturing, integration and test, and operations.Essential experience in one or more of the following areas:Overhead Infrared (OPIR) systemElectro-OpticsSensor designRemote sensingHigh energy laser systemsLasercom systemsSpacecraft system designImage processingRF and digital hardware designSignal detection and estimationBasic Qualifications:Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline OR a Masters of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) disciplineExperience with remote sensing, Space Situational Awareness (SSA), communications or directed energyExperience designing, integrating, testing and operating optical and RF systemsActive SCI ClearancePreferred Qualifications:Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer ScienceExperience with remote sensing, Space Situational Awareness (SSA), communications or directed energyExperience designing, integrating, testing and operating optical and RF systemsCandidates have completed relevant coursework in optics, lasercom, and DSPExperience with baseband and IR sensors, high energy lasers, and remote sensingPossesses strong leadership qualities, as well as strong verbal and written communication skillsActive DoD Top SecretSalary Range: $68,100.00 - $102,100.00Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
