The individual selected for this role will design, build, deliver, and maintain technology solutions that enhance research, learning, and operations for three units comprising the Business Affairs Auxiliary Services (Student Unions, Parking and Transportation, & Bookstores). The Systems Administrator, Sr. provides expertise in technology strategy, policies, plans, architecture, deployment, and maintenance of the University''s applications, systems, and hardware infrastructure for security and ongoing end user services. This position will also monitor computer systems availability, performance, and security, and install, configure, and perform routine maintenance to systems software, hardware, and related applications systems. For more information about working at the University of Arizona and relocations services, please click here.Duties & Responsibilities Manage, architect, and oversee all aspects of the Business Affairs Auxiliary Services computing environment. This includes network infrastructure, servers, enterprise applications, audio video systems and all specialty research systems located on-premise or in Amazon Web Services (AWS).Install, configure, manage, and maintain operating system workstations and servers in support of business stall, configure, and document computer systems software, hardware and related applications systems (serial numbers, models, software version, and custom configurations).Add and remove systems software and installs hardware according to established procedures.Coordinate activities related to infrastructure and database, involving the definition, development, and maintenance of procedures.Determine and develop architectural approaches and solutions.Monitor, update, and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels.Monitor availability, performance and security of computer systems software including operating and network systems and utilities, servers and other hardware and related application systems.Implement corrective actions to resolve any issues found.Perform regular network scans looking for non-compliant devices and applications, report to IT leadership to mitigate.Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established university standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.Perform routine maintenance of hardware and software in conformance with established procedures.Perform data backup and disaster recovery.Respond to security breaches, service interruptions, and other critical situations.Participate in the coordination of systems activities and communicates with other internal and external systems staff.Participate in systems planning, design and development and systems hardware and software projects.Lead the evaluation of potential hardware and software solutions to address technology needs.Respond to intermediate and advanced technical and workstation support requests from users and technical staff. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor''s degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
