Our Engineering team is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Front End focused Principal Engineer to help build the experiences that drive our corporate web presence, which is the first touchpoint our worldwide community of users has with Salesforce. As a Principal Engineer, you will oversee the technical direction and architecture of our experiences across properties.Your Impact:Provide innovative solutions for and its related tier1 properties as a platform to engage visitors and customers seeking to learn more about what Salesforce can offer them and gain knowledge and support as part of their journey into the Salesforce ecosystem. In addition, as the Digital platform grows to take on new properties, you will be responsible for helping architect reusable UI patterns and strategies to help the organization scale.Develop the components and pipelines necessary to make up the system our visitors interact with, utilizing WordPress, standards-compliant HTML5, ES6, CSS3, and Lightning Web Components.Design, implement, test, and deliver highly scalable and performant products.Master our development process, culture, and codebase, then improve it.Operate effectively in the hybrid engineering model where engineers are expected to be able to design and execute the necessary work to ensure quality in their code as well as other engineers.Work closely with a team of engineers, product managers, user experience experts, and performance engineers to build new features our customers will love, adopt and use while keeping our trusted platform stable and scalableMentor others in the development of technologies, tools, and processesPresent your designs to internal/external groups and review the designs of othersDevelop test strategies, design automation frameworks, and write unit/functional tests to drive up code coverage and automation metrics.Basic Requirements:8+ years working on large-scale, complex web applicationsExperience with modern HTML5, JavaScript (ES6+) and CSS3Experience with TypeScriptExperience and a solid understanding of Web Components Standards - Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML Templates.Working experience with multiple front-end frameworks, such as Angular, Vue, Ember, React, etc., to have an opinion of the qualities of each versus the others.Working experience with development tools such as Webpack, npm, YarnMobile web development and responsive web design experienceStrong understanding of the fundamentals of web page and site performanceStrong understanding of web application securityStrong understanding of object-oriented development concepts and MVCExperience mentoring other engineersAbility to take ownership of projects and multi-taskDemonstrated ability to communicate technical designs with clear documentation and visualizationBachelor''s Degree in Computer Science, Technology or equivalent experience.Understanding front-end testing methodologies, test-driven development, and associated frameworks (Jest, Cucumber, and other related test frameworks a plus)Preferred Requirements:Experience with Lightning Web Components (LWC)Experience with PHP and JavaExperience with Content Management Systems, especially WordPressExperience with templating tools such as NunjucksDemonstrated thought leadership around cutting-edge technologiesExperience working within design systems, ideally as part of a team establishing and building that system from scratchExperience developing and maintaining analytics reporting as well as tag management via enterprise-grade solutions (via Adobe, Google, Tealium, or others)Experience with build automation tools such as Maven, Grunt, or GulpExperience building with internationalization and localization in mindExperience writing UI tests using a Selenium-based frameworkFor Colorado-based roles: Minimum annual salary of $150,000.
