Come be a part of our fantastic team at The Darcy!Overview: Supervise banquet staff in the completion of the assigned functions and set-up, serve and break-down functions in a safe, accident-free manner. Job Description Essential Functions: • Check server and house person BEOs to ensure that all information is accurate. (5%) • Check room set-up to see that BEO directions are completely followed. Ensure that all public areas are neat and clean. (10%) • Make contact with group representatives. Explain how to make contact if needed throughout function. (5%) • Communicate all BEO changes to catering office and affected departments. (5%) • Coordinate with banquet staff set-ups, changes and time schedules for all functions. (5%) • Operate as a banquet server; setting-up, greeting and serving the guest and breaking-down the function. (50%) • Inspect banquet areas at end of function to ensure all equipment is returned to its proper area and all areas are clean. (10%) • Recap all banquet checks at end of each day and turn in to Night Audit. (5%) • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned. Non-Essential Functions: (5%) • Know the menu for each function served and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation method for each item to be served. • Know and use ''Suggestive Selling'' techniques. Experience, Skills and Knowledge • High school education or equivalent • Two years of hotel banquet food/beverage service • Able to read, speak and write English • Able to process paperwork • Act as a lead worker for up to twenty employees • Local travel for outside catering functions • Flexible; scheduled days and times may vary based on need • Lifting 20 - 40 lbs. (trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc.) • Pushing 50 - 100 lbs. (carts, queen marys, hotbox, portable bar) • Carry 20 - 40 lbs. (trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc.) • Ability to bend to lower level cabinets and banquet storage room.
