Job Type Full-timeDescriptionThe Business Development Specialist is responsible for establishing a profitable book of business by prospecting and engaging prospects to secure full truckload brokerage opportunities.Business Development Specialist Duties: Independently create truckload brokerage solutions to generate new business and increase business unit profitability.Develop new business opportunities and potential customers at all stages of the sales cycle including targeting, prospecting, presenting, and negotiating. Quantify and qualify prospective customers. Perform regional trend and data analysis to determine lanes, pricing and customer needs based on existing brokerage strategies. Responsible for onboarding and growth of BD Specialist''s existing book of businessDevelop and maintain a robust pipeline that will support the effective conversion of prospects to a profitable business Maintain contact and foster a business relationship with BD Specialist''s book of business to offer quality customer service and serve as the point of contact Responsible for all stages of the onboarding process including the creation of the customer profile within TMS, obtaining a completed credit application with references, and submitting a completed ''New Customer'' form once credit has been approved RequirementsBusiness Development Specialist Requirements: Background in prospective business developmentTransportation and logistics industry experience preferredHigh initiative and energyAbility to develop long-term relationships
