LOOKING FOR: A self-driven, Switch Technician/System Engineer with an active Secret clearance to join our AMERICAN SYSTEMS team in Robins AFB, GA As a Switch Technician/System Engineer you will: * Join a well-established team that gives you the opportunity to grow * Maintain your Secret clearance * Receive robust benefits package that includes Employee Stock Ownership Plan! (ESOP) * Be a part of an empowered accountability culture where each employee-owner has a meaningful stake in the future success and growth of the company A week in the life of a Switch Technician/Systems Engineer: * Required to perform operation and maintenance on the various switching system(s) and Network equipment including but not limited to: Avaya S8800 Telephone switching system, AirBus Enhanced 911, Equinox * Conference Bridge, Callegra Voice Mail, Interactive Voice Response (IVR), TeleBoss 850, and the IP Discovery Tool * responsibilities extend to fielding customer calls and complete incident tickets to resolve issues (e.g. voice mail pin resets , assistance with logging in, etc.), * Install, test, troubleshoot, program, maintain, and repair voice and/or non-voice communications systems including intercom and public address systems, alarm systems, and electronic alert systems and communications equipment, including line drivers in support of the Base Telecommunications System (BTS) at Robins AFB, GA * Run, test and trouble repair of CAT 6 cables, Fiber Optic, back bone cables, or network wires to all telephone sets, terminal connectors, lugs, pins, or screws, associated with network and telephone equipment for voice and non-voice circuits * Perform site surveys to develop technical solutions based on customer requirements for voice, data, and video connectivity installation, implementation, testing, and integration. * Advise technical staff of upcoming trends for voice, data, and video solutions with an emphasis on network convergence. * Basic operation and support of modern LAN/WAN technology (router, switches, hubs) * Operate and maintain telecom closets to include installation of equipment and ladder racks, cable management hardware and verification of premise wiring. * Install, maintain and support both Inside and Outside Plant. * Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot DS3''s; T1''s, and OC-3''s. * Provide general trouble shooting of telephony systems, peripheral equipment and cable/wiring. * Provide support for daily operations for PBX systems to include clearing alarms, performing back-ups, responding to tickets. * Execute Moves, Adds, Changes, and Deletions (MACDs). * Assist with periodical internal audits or reviews or deficiency remediation efforts * Assist in the effort to establish quality control of deliverables and services provided. * Respond to calls during non-duty hours to resolve emergency incident Founded in 1975, AMERICAN SYSTEMS is one of the largest employee-owned companies in the United States. Company Awards: * Forbes National Best Midsize Companies * Energage National Best Workplaces, National * Washington Post Best Workplace; Veteran Hiring Awards: * GOLD AWARD by U.S. Department of Labor HIRE Vets Medallion Program * TOP 10 MILITARY FRIENDLY EMPLOYER by * BEST FOR VETS EMPLOYER by Military Times * LI-EW1 Job Requirements * Technical degree or equivalent in experience * Security + Certification or ability to obtain * Active Secret Security Clearance * 5 years minimum as a Switch Technician or Telecommunications Technician. * CAT 3, 5, 5E and 6 wiring experience * Must have experience with Network Server VMware and encryption * Must have experience in PBX/Key System/VoIP systems/wireless solutions/cable infrastructure installation/scheduling/testing. * Experience/familiarity with Avaya voice, data and video products/solutions. * Experience supporting a Telecommunications Management System. * Excellent customer facing skills to provide support for various Base customers. * Sound technical experience in assessing telecommunications support requirements as well as conducting required administrative tasks required for the projects EOE M/F/Disability/Veterans
