Career Opportunity:The Environmental and Analytical Team fulfills the need of routine and specialized testing, analysis for internal and external customers, research initiatives, and improvement projects across the processes of the manufacturing facility. The Technical Services Analyst role will: Provide analytical and technical support within the Environmental and Analytical team to drive solutions and adequately service customers. Be an active participant in analytical research/investigation and continuous improvement projects. Receive necessary training to support ISO systems and LSS projects. Be a critical player on a proactive team that solves technical puzzles and challenges to operations.How you will impact WestRock: The primary objective of this position will be to provide analytical and technical support within the Environmental and Analytical Services team to drive solutions and adequately service operational departments and Environmental permit testing requirements. Participate in routine inspections of air, water, and waste processes. Frequently, this position will carry out an entire analytical process utilizing specialized methods and instrumentation, from the collection of representative samples to the accurate reporting of results. This may include troubleshooting abnormal results and communicating findings and improvements. Perform regularly scheduled calibration, preventative maintenance, and when necessary, appropriate repairs for analytical instrumentation. This position will make necessary revisions to methodologies and procedures to improve quality and will facilitate efficiency through LEAN and six-sigma tools. This position will play a supporting role on an innovative team that supports numerous process areas with analytical solutions and value-added monitoring of important programs and systems.What you need to succeed: B.S. required, degree in technical field and 2+years of laboratory experience preferred. A strong drive for excellence and keen awareness for Safety. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite, particularly Excel and Outlook. Ability to work both, independently, and seamlessly within a structured team. Demonstrate an aptitude for learning technical skills quickly. Willingness to work a schedule that requires a rotational weekly call duty.
