For more information about GMS, visitany one of our subsidiary company websites.Summary of Position:Commonwealth Building Materials Warehouse Workers will be responsible for areas of warehouse maintenance, shipping/receiving, product storage, and delivery set-up. Forklift experience is a plus.Duties & Responsibilities:Maintain health and safety compliance in accordance with company policyPrepare orders by processing requests: pull accurate materials and place in appropriate area for customer pick up or delivery; loading and unloading trucks as necessaryMaintain inventory controls through minimizing materials damage and ensuring order accuracyBe able to organize the warehouse and manage bin locationsEstablish, maintain and promote high standards of customer serviceWorkers are required to lift to 50 lbs., walk or stand for most of the shift, and wear protective gear and steel-toed bootsEnsure that equipment is maintained to company operating standardsMust be able to think for yourself-problem solveOther Competencies: Ability to self-manage, show initiative and be proactiveCommunicate professionally, both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customersREQUIREMENTS:High school diploma preferred1-3 years of experience or more is preferredPhysical Demands:Must be able to remain in stationary position 50%Must be able to lift 50 lbsMust wear protective gear and steel-toed bootFrequently, will move about inside the warehouseMust be able to operate warehouse machinery Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.Constantly in warehouse environment Must be able to work in various types of weather conditions and temperaturesMental Demands:Must be able to problem solve and prioritize tasksMust be able to manage stress depending on tasksMust be able to multitaskMust be able to receive informationMust be able to quickly communicate solutions if problems occurMust be able to demonstrate a high degree of sound judgementCompany benefits:Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability & Life Insurance401kPaid holidays & vacation daysThis job description is subject to change at any time.Launch your career with a national building materials distributor and discover opportunities for growth and advancement.
