Respiratory Therapist - Massena Hospital

STATUS: Full-time LOCATION: Massena Hospital DEPARTMENT: Respiratory SCHEDULE: Nights; 7pm - 7am ATTRIBUTES Graduation from an AMA approved Associate''s degree program in Respiratory Therapy, completion of at least one year of respiratory therapy experience subsequent to graduation. Current New York State licensure to practice Respiratory Therapy. CPR certification or ability to acquire such required. Neonatal resuscitation certification to be completed once employed. Must have a thorough knowledge of Respiratory Therapy techniques, procedures and equipment to administer advanced respiratory therapy procedures, provide guidance to assigned staff and participate in ancillary functions of department. Requires a high level of interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and their families, medical staff, and co-workers. RESPONSIBILITIES Treatments such as administers oxygen, mechanical ventilation, patient reactions observed, arterial puncture, respond to codes, equipment evaluation, suctioning, patient transport, record keeping, diagnostic studies, patient teaching, maintain equipment, check supplies, preventative maintenance, equipment cleaning, telephone orders, patient assessment EDUCATION LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Rochester Regional Health is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
