Working under the direction of a physician, the oncology nurse accesses the patient s history and current condition, establishes and monitors the patient/family goals and outcomes, coordinates, monitors and evaluates patient care in the outpatient office and infusion setting. The oncology registered nurse provides and implements patient/family education and home care needs. Principles of growth and development and each patient s age specific needs and treatment and care for the adult and geriatric population are utilized.EDUCATION:Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.REQUIREMENTS:Current New Jersey RN licensure required.BLS Certification Required.
