Company: US3089 Sygma San Antonio, a Division of The Sygma Network, IncZip Code:78218Minimum Level of Education:High School or EquivalentMinimum Years of Experience:3 YearsEmployment Type:Full TimeTravel Percentage: 0JOB SUMMARY To provide safe, reliable, cost-efficient vehicles, by performing quality preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, as well as performing expert diagnosis and repair as required, to prevent breakdowns, reduce vehicle down time, and improve total fleet reliability.2nd Shift Hours- 12PM to 9PM3rd Shift Hours - 9PM to 6AMResponsibilities Perform required inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment, in accordance to First Article Inspection (FAI) / Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVI) annual inspection requirementsPerform inspections and preventative maintenance on tractors, trailers, dollies, lift gates, light duty vehicles, and shop equipment.Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs due to: malfunctions, road-call repairs, and driver vehicle inspection report write-ups, in a safe, efficient, professional, and timely manner.Diagnose cause of malfunctions to vehicle engine, cooling, transmission, cutch, drive-line, and differential, fuel, ignition, exhaust (including regen), emissions, intake, brake, suspension, steering, HVAC, hydraulic, mechanical, refrigeration, and electrical - including computer controlled, and on-board interior / exterior systems; as well as, perform repairs to those systems.Perform inspection and safe replacement of tires / wheel assembliesDocument all time, materials, and repairs (using complaint, cause, correction format) on computerized equipment (tablets, etc).Share knowledge with other techs, to aid in their own developmentAssist with washing and re-fueling of equipment when neededAssist with shop clean-up duties, and any others, as askedAdhere to all safety requirements and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by the jobChampion overall safety in the departmentComply with OSHA, and other local, state, and federal regulationsAdhere to organization and department policies and procedures, including grooming, appropriate attire and attendanceMaintain tools and equipment in safe, clean, usable mannerProvide own tools and appropriate storage for the job (some specialty tools are provided)Participate in company or departmental meetings and/or trainingContinue education through on/off site training, mentorship, and OEM sponsored schoolingQualifications EducationHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED)Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical trainingExperience2 years school and 1 year of work, or3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repairCertificates, Licenses, and RegistrationsCurrent and valid state driver''s license, CDL-A preferredAnnual Inspector Certification (and demonstration of the knowledge, skills, and abilities that apply)Brake Inspection / Repair Certification (and demonstration of the knowledge, skills, and abilities that apply)ASE Certification -Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Truck (preferred but not required, and demonstration of the knowledge, skills, and abilities that apply)EPA Section 609 Certification (and demonstration of the knowledge, skills, and abilities that apply)Professional SkillsWorking knowledge of all vehicle system components and operationKnowledge and skill in diagnosing and repair of vehicle electrical systemsUse of electrical meter and computer-based diagnostic equipmentFabrication design and constructionKnowledge and skill in welding and cutting (gas, arc, and MIG or TIG)Moderate knowledge of all DOT (FMCSA) regulationsKnowledge of OSHA safety regulationsKnowledge of environmental regulationsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, regulations, and work ordersAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsFamiliarity with, and safe, proper use of common hand and power tools, as related to the jobInteract professionally, appropriately, and at a high level of cooperation with othersPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hearThe associate is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlThe associate will use hands to feel, finger, handle, grab;
