Job DescriptionPosition Title: PHOBIA COUNSELOR- White Plains Mental Health Clinic Position SummaryParticipates in workshop group sessions and may act as co-leader.Does in-vivo desensitization and CBT on an individual basis with clients enrolled in Center''s Phobia workshops, Health Anxiety Programs, Freedom to Fly Workshops, and OCD workshops. Leads a weekly support group, as assigned.Represents the Anxiety Phobia Treatment Center in the community(e.g., presentations at organization/school health fairs)Job Responsibilities See below: Performs other duties as assigned.Participates in workshop group sessions and may act as co-leader.Works on an individual basis with clients enrolled in Center''s Phobia Workshops, Health Anxiety Programs, Freedom to Fly Workshops, OCD program and Intensive Course.Submits written and verbal reports of patients'' progress.Attends monthly staff meetings and in-service training sessions.Leads a weekly support group, as assigned.Education, Training, Licensure and Experience RequirementsCompletion of the Anxiety Phobia Treatment Center Phobia Counselor Training Program. Participation in ongoing in-service training and supervision.Demonstration of knowledge of anxiety disorders and their appropriate terpersonal SkillsDemonstrates ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with Center''s patients.Exhibits warmth and creativity in working with patients.Demonstrates ability to work effectively in a group setting with staff members and clients.Is willing to be flexible and accommodating when working with anxious and phobic clients.
