JOB SUMMARY:This Quality Assurance Inspections Supervisor will report to the Quality Assurance Sr. Manager. The Quality Assurance Inspections Supervisor main priority is to provide management & supervision over Inspections Team Area Leaders and Inspectors.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Supervise & support quality inspection team members and suggest improvements to daily functionalityAnalyze defects per unit (DPU) dataCommunicate DPU to others departments, collaborating to identify issue roots & rectify problemsPerform visual inspections and non-destructive tests where appropriateEvaluate components and final products against quality standards and manufacturing specificationsComplete precise measurements using special toolsMonitor product processes to gain understanding of problematic steps and rectify issuesAssist in determining & improving quality department standards, practices and proceduresAssure consistent quality of production by implementing and enforcing automated practice systemsSupport ISO 9001 quality operation leading to certification and better business practicesKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Employee supervisionStaff training & developmentEffective verbal and written communicationsInspection protocolsVisual inspectionsQuality control processes & testsQuality Management Systems (QMS)Production / Manufacturing methodsPFEMA knowledge / awarenessPresentation experienceRoot cause analysisReading and interpreting engineering diagrams and blue printsUse of various measurement equipment (tape measure, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.)EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:High school diploma/GEDAssociate or Bachelor Degree preferred5+ years of Quality and/or Manufacturing department experience1+ years of leadership / management experienceStrong computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)Six Sigma knowledge, training and/or certification*The specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all-inclusive.
