Salary Rate: $59,012.98 Annually SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for leading new projects within the bureau as assigned by the Director and/or supervisor. Assist with the Management of the Florida Palm Project: Plan, direct, and provide oversight of action items for completion of Florida PALM tasks. Assist with major bureau projects associated with the transition to Florida Palm. Develop intenal process mapping for Accounts Payable, Revenue Management, Financial Reporting, Property, and Payroll. Develop internal training sessions and conversion workshops. Develop, update, and maintain procedures for Florida PALM business processes. Help oversee the Internal Change Champion Network. Review, update, and develop financial policies based upon state and federal law, regulations and court decisions, generally acceptable accounting principles, and effective financial management techniques. Prepare, distribute, and maintain the bureau financial policies and procedure manual and disseminate general financial information to the sections. Reviews documentation of computer-based financial and financial-related systems for compliance with department financial policies and procedures. Coordinates the development and use of all financial systems of the bureau. Assist with preparing analysis, reporting impacts, and recommendation on accounting processes and organization Assist with the Management of the Kofax AP Agility Project Manage the CPAS (Cell Phone Attestation System) Cleanup Project Manage to include the annual Bureau Task List, Position Dashboard, PDs, OFMs, etc. Assists with managing the Org Chart Develop and supervise the delivery of appropriate training to Finance and Accounting staff. Manage the Office of Finance and Accounting intranet. Coordinate the preparation of reports/analysis as required by internal management or outside parties. Serve as Backup PCard Administrator. Performs other duties as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures. Knowledge of accounting systems. Knowledge of internal control concepts. Knowledge of computer systems concepts Knowledge of DC rules, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of other specialized programs or functions. Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to utilize automated spreadsheet applications. Ability to use automated accounting systems, personal computers, and general office equipment. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Must possess the following: A bachelor''s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, mathematics, business or one of the computer sciences AND two (2) years of experience in accounting, auditing or in computer systems analysis which involves accounting or auditing data. Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certificate can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.A master''s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the areas described above can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
