We have the excitement and ambition of a startup with the benefits and resources of a proven organization.The Manager Product Safety is responsible for leading the planning and coordination of the functional safety activities in the development phases of the safety lifecycle, in accordance with ISO12100, ANSI B11.0, ISO26262, OSHA, NFPA and other applicable standards. As a Product Safety Manager you are responsible for maintaining the safety plan, and for monitoring the progress of the safety activities against the safety plan and will routinely interface/collaborate with multi-disciplined project team members, functional management, suppliers, manufacturing, and customers.Understand the application of our products and their use environments to appropriately and strategically apply technical knowledge, tools and methodologies to ensure our system meets all safety requirements as defined by our customer agreement as well as those regulatory requirements in the regions in which we operate.The Manager Product Safety is responsible for coordinating and managing functional safety requirements in cross functional teams. The responsibility of the Product and Functional Safety Engineer spans from defining architecture and interfaces, break down functional safety requirements to define the complete system. The role includes close cooperation both internally, with suppliers and with customers, why communication skills are essential. Project management of prototype projects and platforms project can be part of the responsibility. What You''ll Do Your ideas don''t go on the shelf, they go out into the world. Every improvement, idea and invention you make gets tested and quickly implemented because our solutions are already in use by some of the nation''s largest this role you will:Plan and coordinate functional safety activities for ISO26262 complianceCreate Functional Safety awareness across departmentsDevelop hazards/safety requirementsDevelop assumptions and mitigate riskPerform safety management activities during all project phases including hazard analysis and risk assessment, DFMEA, FMEDA, qualitative and quantitative fault tree analysis.Collaborate with project managers, development team and customers on Functional SafetyParticipate in the design process and provide professional feedback to achieve of the safety goal.Conduct reviews with product teams to ensure functional safety standards are being met throughout product development cycles.Sign-off the design release for each step during the development processPlan and coordinate functional safety audits and 3rd party terfaces within organizationReport and escalate proactively to Project manager and/or design terface with suppliers and customer organizationAct as the voice of company towards the suppliers and customerGathers functional safety goals from customers and handles the dialogueMeet customer expectations and works for successful business implementationTravel of up to 20­ditional duties assigned What You''ll Need Education and Experience:BS degree in an Engineering related discipline7-10 years of experience driving product safety and compliance in complex systems. 4 years managing a group of engineering professionals.Knowledge of OSHA and region-specific regulations and relevant machine related NFPA, ANSI, ISO, UL, IEC etc. standardsCertified Safety Professional (CSP)Extensive Material Handling Equipment (MHE) knowledgeExperience with system engineering approaches (requirements engineering / management, functional analysis and allocation, architecture design, validation, and verification) and experience with change & configuration management.Familiarity with development and quality process (FMEA/FTA methods/tools)TV Rheinland certification preferredKnowledgeable in a wide range of device designs, technologies, and human-machine interfacesExcellent oral and written communication skills for internal and external consumptionStrong documentation skills and practices.
