Our associates are flexible, hardworking and great critical thinkers.The Ascension St. Vincent Med/Surg, Observation unit consists of 46 beds and a Nurse to patient ratio of ~1:4 to 1:6. We are a Post Surgical unit where we provide care to patients after routine & complicated surgeries. Our trusted team of doctors, nurses and specialists deliver high-quality care for patients with a variety of illnesses and related treatments. PATIENTS WE SERVE: Our patient population is a large variety of diagnosed patients with multiple comorbidities: We care for complex medicine patients, Post Op and Med/Surg OBS. Patients on this unit typically have complicated multi-disease process histories and need multi skilled nursing care. Often a patient will need a nurse to be proficient in several skill sets including but not limited to NG tube insertion, IV medication administration, tube feeds, phlebotomy, catheter placement, drain maintenance, wound care, occasional tracheostomy care, and or occasional chest tube care. Daily operations and bed flow are organized and lead with a charge nurse on each shift. Unit leadership is a multisupport system of a unit director, manager, and multiple clinical supervisors. Experience preferred: Minimum of 6 months clinical nursing experience as an RN in an acute care setting.St. Vincent Observation unit is located at 2001 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260, and is hiring full-time (3 twelve hour shifts per week), part-time (2 twelve hour shifts per week) - requires every 3rd weekend coverage, PRN and WEO. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.Assess and coordinate patient''s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
