Martin Landscape has been a family-owned & operated business since 2004 and We thrive on our four core values: PASSION, PRIDE, TEAMWORK, & RELATIONSHIPSWe offer Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, Health, Dental, Vision & 401k with company match.Positions Starting at $18- $22per hour.ResponsibilitiesProvides management oversight of maintenance and repair services with responsibility for ensuring technical and efficiency through programs that deliver quality maintenance and repair services. Ensures that trucks, trailers, string trimmers, edgers, back-pack blowers, push blowers, and lawn mowers are maintained in excellent working order. Inspects the tires on all trucks, trailers and equipment daily to ensure they are safe to operatePlan and develop long-and-short range goals to ensure that there is a cogent approach to overcoming shortages and/or better utilizing excess resourcesOrder shop suppliesDevelopment of vehicle and equipment maintenance policies and procedures for internal, external, servicesKeep up with OWM technical service bulletins, factory recall, and develop and maintain in-house warranty programsWork with Team Leaders and Team Members to ensure that equipment meets their needs, as well as, maintaining and repair equipment within 24 hours of being notified that equipment needs repairedPerform operation test prior to repairs to verify complaintDiagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications including engines, transmissions and clutches, suspension and steering, electrical systems, and brakesMaintains a complete inventory system of each vehicle, maintenance equipment, repair parts, supplies, etc.Responsible for ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained and are safe to useDevelop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for the Fleet Mechanic within first yearEnforces safe work behavior and maintains safe work sitesAll other duties as assignedRequirementsHigh school degree or GED5 yearsexperience as a fleet mechanicKnowledge of methods, techniques and procedures involved in maintenance repairs and replacementSkilled in DOT inspectionsKnowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systemsSkilled in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on trucks and equipmentSkilled in weldingAbility to operate various pieces of equipment such as skid steers and trenchersAbility to coordinate programs, prepare reports and maintain accurate recordsAbility to communicate both orally and in writingAbility to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment with accuracy and speed; ability to create effective working relationships with employeesStrong oral and written communication skills, job planning skills, and mechanical aptitude are a mustKnowledge of an automated Fleet Management Information SystemConsiderable knowledge of safety practices and techniques in mechanics; considerable knowledge of diesel and gas engine mechanics; considerable knowledge of vehicle make-up and shop parts and supplies requiredSouth Carolina driver''s licenseFirst aid / cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)Work EnvironmentPhysical Demands - The physical demands outlined are examples of the type of demands the employee will encounter on the job site.
