Position Purpose: Review and opine on reserves ensuring financial health of the company. The position requires creative actuarial capabilities, good communication, and strong interpersonal skills. Provide expertise and technical support in matters related to the successful and financially sound operations of the company''s health plan this Senior Director, Actuarial Services role, you will:Act as an Appointed Actuary certifying the actuarial liabilities for health plans and offering extensive support for other appointed actuariesEstimate liabilities for claims incurred but not paidApply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculate financial outcomesOversee health plan experience, identify trends and recommend improvementsResearch and identify new business opportunitiesWork with Health Plans to ensure soundness of capitation ratesWork with State examiners to assess reserve adequacyThis work includes reviewing company reserves. This role will involve working with senior management to drive decisions for the business. Work with health plans to oversee health plan experience, identify trends, and recommend improvements. This role supports the financial health of the company and helps the company meet financial reporting requirements. Required: Previous management experience including responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of staff required.Highly preferred: Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, Pharmacy (specifically Medicare Part D), and ACA Marketplace productsHighly preferred: Ability to sign NAIC statements of actuarial opinionRequired Licenses/Certifications: Fellow (FSA) or Associate (ASA) of the Society of Actuaries (or equivalent international certification).
