The MANAGER OF PROGRAM OPERATIONS (TRAINING MANAGER) for the Enterprise Revenue Cycle Training Department oversees the work of the training unit and ensures that quality, effective education is designed and delivered to users of UW Medicine''s revenue cycle system meeting project and customer deadlines. This position will collaborate effectively with colleagues and other departments at the University of Washington Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, Northwest Hospital, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Neighborhood Clinics, Hall Health, Summit Cardiology, UW Physicians, Airlift Northwest, and UW Medicine Information Technology Services including other Educators, Analysts, Project Managers, Help Desk staff, and Application Support Analysts. The Training Manager will also work with staff throughout UW Medicine IT Services, UW Medicine, SCCA, and UW Physicians. This position will have contact with all levels of management on an occasional basis as related to specific projects. The Training Manager will have contact with medical center business owners, resource managers, executive sponsors as well as ITS and Revenue Cycle directors, managers, staff, and vendor staff. RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to): REVENUE CYCLE TRAINING ADMINISTRATION: Continually assess educational needs of UW Medicine departments that use the Revenue Cycle software applications, based on organizational mission, goals and key performance indicators. Define the mission and goals of the Enterprise Revenue Cycle Operations (ERCO) training team and maintain alignment with organizational mission and goals. Exploring and recommending new educational technologies and curriculum design methodologies that can be applied to program offerings in order to increase delivery and/or learning effectiveness and lower information systems training costs. Determine staffing requirements, recruit, hire, onboard, coach/counsel, evaluate performance, and process terminations for FTEs of the ERCO Training Department. Develop trainer development programs and identify resources and opportunities for professional growth. CUSTOMER SERVICE AND QUALITY CONTROL: Ensure that principles of adult learning, change management, group dynamics, and group facilitation, as well as recognized task analysis, audience analysis, curriculum design and training evaluation methodologies are used to design and develop training solutions. Ensure that training solutions are designed with a clear and efficient strategy for ongoing maintenance. Ensure that the most effective training delivery methods are employed to meet customer needs. PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Specific duties and deliverables include, but are not limited to: Conduct formal project intakes; screen requests and identify strategies to meet customer needs within resource constraints and priorities set by UW Medicine Revenue Cycle leadership. Develop training project plans with stakeholders, sponsors, and ERCO training team members. REQUIRED: Bachelor''s Degree in Healthcare, Education, Instructional Design, Technical Writing, or related field. 6-8 years directing the work of professional staff including the HR functions of hiring/terminating/appraising performance 6-8 years managing projects with tight deadlines and budgets 6-8 years of experience designing and developing curricula in a complex environment, using standardized design methodology, and integrating technical solutions with end user workflow. 6-8 years of experience writing, proofing and editing courseware content for grammar, accuracy and clarity. 6-8 years of experience conducting instructor-led training for adults. Fast-paced, self-motivated working style and multi-tasking ability. Demonstrated track record of excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation. Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum qualifications. DESIRED: 1-3 years of experience using learning management systems. 1-3 years of experience working with Epic revenue cycle implementations. Master''s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or related field is preferred. Familiar with project planning and control techniques, such as work breakdown structures, critical path analysis, resource analysis and conflict resolution. Familiar with project risk management. Academic Healthcare experience. Knowledge of continuous process/quality improvement processes and their application in creation of education programs that are evidence-based, data driven and outcomes oriented. CONDITIONS OR EMPLOYMENT: Response to customer demands within imposed deadlines is required. The ability to prioritize and manage time wisely is necessary when responding to questions and conditions immediately. Requires the ability to efficiently travel to off-site locations to meet time-sensitive customer needs. Generally work is during daytime hours, but evening, night and weekend work occasionally is required to support projects, particularly during implementation.
