Stanley Consultants is seeking a motivated productive individual to lead the Transportation Structural Department in the Chicagoland area. This leader will also serve as a Principal Bridge Engineer, participating in all phases of transportation bridge design from concepts through construction.Essential duties include:Structures Department leadership managing operations of current and potential future membersStructures Department leadership managing tasks and/or projects under contractually prescribed scopes of work, milestone schedules, and allocated budgetsAssists in development of marketing strategies, written proposals, and innovative concepts for new business pursuits.Leads by example, mentors by experienceRepresents Structures Department in coordinating with company Structures Group operations (several offices) and company Transportation Market operations (several offices)Professional Client interactionLeads the analysis/design, review, and quality control effort on various structural assignmentsDevelops reports, specifications, drawings, and related documents to meet client requirementsFamiliarity with all phases of Project Development from planning & studies, through final design, and into construction and operation.Equal navigational skills - steadfast in course direction and flexible in unexpected changes in directionRequirements:Must have MS in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering from accredited institutionMust have at least 20 years of relevant professional experienceMust have active Illinois structural engineer licenseMust have recent relevant structural design experience for Illinois DOT and Tollway projectsRequires significant experience preparing preliminary and final bridge design contract documents for roadway, railway, and waterway crossing bridgesDesign experience with AASHTO and other relevant codes and standardsProficiency using MathCAD, STAAD.Pro, LPILE, PCAColumn, LEAP Bridge software, MDX, Bentley/MicroStation products, Midas, LARSA 4D, or other equivalent engineering standard bridge softwareProficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite applications, commonly used structural engineering software, CADD drawing platforms, and file management frameworksExcellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to guide structural team as a technical design resource, foster leadership growth within team environment, schedule resources, and work cooperatively with project managers and regional leadershipAre you ready to take your career to the next level with a company that is committed to innovative growth and improving lives in the communities where we live and work?
