Messer Construction Co., an award-winning construction manager and general contractor,is seeking a CDL Driver in the Nashville, TN market. Class A drivers are preferred, but Class B drivers who possess a working understanding of construction equipment are encouraged to apply as well.We are offering:Full-time work with no layoff and predictable daily scheduleFull benefits package including medical, dental, retirement, paid vacation, and holidaysStarting hourly rate will be market competitive and will be based on experience and/or CDL Level.Signing bonus of up to $1000 for candidates with construction equipment and hauling experienceQualities that this candidate should possess are:• Positive mindset and enjoys workingfor the overall success of the team.• Self-starter with a high level of energy• Ability to perform tasks in a timely manner and with minimal supervision• Maintain a high level of productivity• Demonstrate high-levelcustomer service skills for jobsite delivery service• A team player willing to assist others for the good of the department & the company• Accept ownership for the quality of our product & the service we provide to our customersThe position requires compliance with the following responsibilities:• Maintain a valid driver''s license with Class A or B CDL certification, DOT Physical Examination (Medical Card) & a good driving record• 2 years of verifiable experience operating Class A or B Commercial Vehicles• Working knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety regulations / DOT guidelines• Prior experience in safe operation of construction machinery, and a working understanding of load securement and transport methods• Accountability for personal safety & maintaining a safe work environment• Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness on the roadways• Attend Messer safety training programs as required• Attend continuation skills training programs as requiredDuties Include:• Performing daily commercial vehicle inspection• Maintain complete vehicle inspection reports (Daily)• Safe Loading & unloading of various construction equipment and supplies at jobsites and regional locations• Making pick ups & deliveries to job sites in various environments• Performing basic troubleshooting involving malfunctioning equipment and making minor repairs• Demonstrating proper and safe equipment usage to customer at point of delivery• Completing ElectronicLog Book and trip sheets meeting all D.O.T. and company record keeping requirementAbilities:Possess all auditory, speaking and communicating capabilitiesPhysical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50lbs., seeing and readingWe build where we live, and it shows.
