Lead Distribution Technician

Job Description:We are currently looking for a dynamic individual as a Lead Distribution Tech for our Performance Products Division located at our manufacturing site Freeport, TX.As the Lead Distribution Tech you will:Perform necessary work and tasks in inspecting, loading, and unloading tank wagons and rail cars; and perform necessary work and tasks to unload, fill, and load drums. Monitor safe handling, identification, storage, and removal of hazardous waste streams resulting from production activities.Review and edit safe operating procedures and checklists for accuracy for the distribution area.Monitor, maintain and coordinate personnel to address housekeeping for all areas of distribution. Tank truck, Tank car, Warehouse, Office, and Tank farm.Provide distribution operation communications, training, and mentoring for the Distribution team via oral and written resources. Facilitate distribution maintenance by identifying, prioritizing, and executing maintenance related activities for distribution. Enter work request inside of SAP. Works closely with OMC and maintenance personnelClear and isolate equipment in distribution area for maintenance per sites lock out tag out procedures.Monitor, maintain and order all operating supplies for the distribution area utilizing SAP and Ariba Purchasing.Responsible for ensuring all distribution team near misses and incidents are managed, communicated to Team lead, and reported via KMS. Participate in incident investigations when needed that involves the distribution area.Assure proper unit staffing within the site guidelines i.e., coverage for vacations, sick leave as well as extra help as needed.Responsible for adherence to safety instructions applicable to work performed and for adherence to general safety instructions applicable to all plant employees and others.Coordinate, communicate and assure completion of all compliance items concerning the distribution team.Maintain current, detailed knowledge and understanding of all shipping equipment, chemicals that are loaded or unloaded, and contents of Shipping Procedures.Seeks ways to continuously improve safety, quality, efficiency, and procedures in the distribution pletes routine walk arounds to ensure distribution personnel are following safe operating procedures and checklist and perform safety interactions as needed.Other general responsibilities:Adheres to the site''s requirements of the under ISO9001, typically by maintaining compliance to the rules and procedures proscribed in the area''s operating discipline. Fills out compliance and operating checklists and participates in the site''s efforts at pollution prevention and continuous improvement.Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by Team Lead.Assists other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals.Participates in and completes company-required training programs on or before target due dates.Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.Skills and experiences required:High School diploma with minimum of 2 years'' experience in Distribution/Shipping loading experience in a Chemical manufacturing plant.Must have a level of proficiency with Delta V, Internet, Email, SAP, Ariba and Microsoft programsAbility to apply arithmetic operations (percentages, add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers and fractions)Ability to properly use personal protective safety equipmentWhat can we offer you?
