Bartender at Benne''sJOB SUMMARY: Provides customized beverage service to guests at the Peninsula Grill in a prompt and courteous manner while maintaining the highest level of quality and consistency in compliance with Forbes and brand standards. ***Hourly wage, plus tips*** JOB DUTIES • Greets guests in a friendly and courteous manner as they approach the bar. • Takes orders for food and beverages, explaining menu items and drinks as needed. • Validates ID of all patrons ordering alcoholic beverages. • Prepares guest checks and secures proper payment. • Responds quickly to all guests'' requests and follows-up to ensure satisfaction. • Prepares alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages according to standardized recipes, ensuring proper portioning of products to control costs and provide consistency. • Sets up bar at the beginning of shift and keeps bar stocked throughout shift. • Maintains a clean and organized bar area throughout shift by disposing of garbage, clearing and cleaning glassware, and wiping down the bar and tables. • Monitors guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine if alcohol service to guest should cease. • Verifies liquor, beer and wine inventory. • Completes requisition sheets and stores stock. • Obtains, counts, and secures bar bank, following proper money handling procedures. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Previous bartending experience in a four or five star establishment -General knowledge of restaurant and hotel operations helpful SKILLS & ABILITIES • Excellent verbal communication skills • Basic reading, writing, and math skills • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including days, nights, weekends and holidays PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, see, hear, talk, listen, reach, bend, stoop, grasp and perform repetitive motions • Ability to push, pull, lift, carry or otherwise move up to 40 lbs.
