This is a seasoned level position capable of carrying out most assignments under general direction. This level would be attainable by multiple incumbents in a work group but would not be an ''automatic'' promotional level. Supervision Received Works under very general supervision. May work independently or with other skilled or semi-skilled workers with responsibility for completion of assigned tasks. Essential Duties & Responsibilities These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned. Captures data in multiple spatial data formats utilizing GPS enabled equipment, standard digitizing techniques and other methods that are moderately difficult and require judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations. Converts data formats such as CADD, shape files, and geo databases, including meta data standards and schema. Assists with development of specific ARC objects, ArcIMS, Net applications and ArcGIS geoprocessing tools for use in entering geographic information. Performs quality assurance, data analysis, map production and report production. Decision Making Selects from multiple procedures and methods to accomplish tasks. May make purchasing or resource allocation decisions within organization guidelines. Applies organizational policies; may interpret organizational policies and recommend exceptions. Leadership Provided Serves as a technical resource or mentor to other employees. May lead or instruct less experienced workers in high level or technical jobs. Ability to resolve most issues without escalation.Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience Completion of appropriate technical course in computer science, business information systems, or CAD. 4 years of work experience in GIS support.
