The N111 Space Enterprise Architecting Department''s mission is to provide thought leadership and data driven analysis to enable the Department of the Air Force and the US Space Force to design, develop, acquire, and integrate future warfighting space Force Designs, including space System-of-Systems architectures and space programs, in time to outpace accelerating threats. Job Responsibilities: The Agile Systems Engineer will work with a diverse project team, spanning multiple geographic locations and time zones. In this position, the successful candidate will use agile processes to lead support to the government sponsor and joint government/industry team to adopt and/or tailor any contingent of Agile methodologies, while leveraging systems engineering practices in a fast-paced technical environment. The successful candidate will provide thought leadership and problem solving for government customers in collaboration with the government sponsors, stakeholders,other FFRDCs, and contractors. The successful candidate will engage in activities related to ensuring the agile process is being followed, foster an environment for a high-performing team that seeks continuous improvement and optimized flow of value. The individual will lead the analysis team in reaching its goals by teaching and coaching agile practices (e.g., supporting and enforcing the Scrum process) while identifying and eliminating impediments. Key functions will include: * Provide assistance to our government sponsor in tailoring agile techniques, concepts and approaches including Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, Lean, DAD, LESS, or other suitable agile approaches.* Support government leaders in defining the context, problem space and vision to determine capabilities, priorities, road maps, transformation plans and next steps.* Guide development of agile processes, plans and architectures at the department and agency business level, identifying their core competencies, defining measures, and identifying capabilities.* Lead and coach project teams in transitioning to agile and incremental delivery cycles, recommending appropriate team structures, processes, methods, metrics and reporting structures.* Use tools to successfully transition to Agile methodologies and ability to provide general guidance for tools setup (e.g., Confluence, Jira).* Serve as a key member on the Agile Release Train (ART).* Facilitate team goals by driving improvement in quality, predictability, flow, and velocity.* Actively address/remediate blocking issues so the team can remain focused on objectives.* Coordinating between development teams in the Agile Release Train.* Communicate at all echelon levels: team, management, external stakeholders. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor''s Degree* 8+ years'' experience with any Agile development methodology* Active Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret/SCI.* Scrum Master Certification (e.g., CSM, SSM)* Experience working in an Agile environment (SAFe 4.6 a plus)* Documented success using Agile engineering practices (e.g. Scrum, Feature and Test Driven Development, DevOps, Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Lean Startup, Spiral, Iterative, etc.).* In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, and up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices* Hands on proficiency using Confluence, Jira, and related tools.* Ability to define, develop, and deliver high quality work products.* Strong presentation, communication and facilitation skills* Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail* Strong problem-solving skills* Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with business delivery teams, leadership, senior management, and internal/external stakeholders* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely across business delivery teams* Ability to work independently and in a team environment* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks PreferredQualifications: * Advanced degree in applicable major* Experience working with multiple Government departments or agencies is preferred, but experience working on Agile Transformation and Rapid Application Design or Prototyping projects in other complex environments may be considered.* Experience with Agile teams, processes, planning and estimation and evaluating environments for Agile adoption and implementation.* Candidates holding current / active US Government security clearance(s) highly preferred* Experience with the Department of Defense / US Space Force This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s): This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s): Salary compensation range and midpoint:$127,500 - $159,500 - $191,500 Annual Subject to all federal and state laws, rules and regulations, MITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
