As an RF Engineer I, you will be using your skills and expertise to design, develop, and test our complex products and technologies. These cover a very wide range from state of the art mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. Youll be responsible for RF front-end design, radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis and filter design, RF frequency planning, analog-to-digital conversion, and circuit design. Learn more about IAS In this role, you will: * Support the Programs RF and Network Engineering test efforts to include developing RF and Network emulators to test and verify RF radio and network hardware to include high speed Software Defined Radios (SDR), Internet Protocol (IP) routers and Mission Processing Equipment to support state of the art Satellite Communication Systems.* Support RF link budgets and Network throughput analyses to develop communication hardware requirements and verify delivered hardware with user developed STEs.* Support trade studies to determine the optimum solution for antenna, radio and network hardware implementation to support satellite communications.* Support upgrades and hardware changes to the FLATSAT emulator; which emulates the spacecraft functionality and performance. Must-haves: * Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline* Lab Experience with RF or network testing* Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices* The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required. Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances Preferred: * Knowledge of RF test equipment to include Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, RF Power Meters and Signal Noise analyzers is recommended.* Knowledge of RF Design tools such as Keysight Advanced System Design (ADS), Ansys high-frequency structure simulator (HFSS), Mentor Graphics Hyperlynx, CST Microwave Studio, AWR Microwave Office, or Matlab Communication Toolbox is also recommended. IMPORTANT NOTICE: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
