Overview LMI is seeking a skilled Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Engagement Outreach Specialist at our headquarters office in Washington, D.C. Successful LMI STEM Engagement Program Manager will demonstrate competency in Program and project management, leadership, critical thinking, and relationship management combined with a background working in the scientific and/or educational communities while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior. Responsibilities Responsibilities may include: Serving as a STEM Outreach Specialist for a government client to plan strategy and arrange logistics for online and in-person outreach activities. Specialist will also assist with writing articles and social media content. Specifically, the STEM Outreach Specialist will: * Develop and execute STEM outreach strategy to maximize exposure to relevant stakeholders, with emphasis on underrepresented communities in the STEM fields. * Coordinate outreach event design and manage participant content development. * Manage and oversee the day-to-day activities of the STEM Outreach Program. * Drive event success measures, including participation levels, participant satisfaction rates, and government client satisfaction. * Manage and develop content for relevant social media accounts, which may include LinkedIn, Twitter, Flickr, Instagram, and Facebook. * Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to review, edit, and coordinate publication process of social media and outreach events. * Provide support for and initiate ideas for a range of outreach collateral including articles, videos, handouts/factsheets, webpages, and posters. * Develop new interactive activities and content to support in person engagement and online learning environment. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor''s Degree in education, communication, or science and three years of experience in related field. * 5+ years of experience, performing related responsibilities and duties * Ability to explain technical concepts to a variety of audiences * Strong attention to detail and organization skills * Knowledge of and ability to use social media platforms * Regular local travel and occasional national travel to support events * Occasional work outside of core hours, as needed, to support events * Superior communication skills, both oral and written * This position requires an active security clearance at the Secret level. You must be a US citizen. DESIRED SKILLS * Master''s degree or higher. * Previous science communications experience. * Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite to include editing of photos, graphics and videos
