!Position eligible for $1000 hiring bonus!SUMMARY: Direct and control warehouse activities to ensure the safe, efficient and economical utilization of the facility for receiving, storing and distributing finished product inventory. Supervise accurate receiving, put-away and replenishment of product. Supervise accurate selection, shipping and quality of product. Ensure OSHA, DOT, and other required guidelines are followed, and records are accurately maintained. Assists General Manager. Assumes General Manager duties as required. Supervise Warehouse Supervisor and Driver Supervisor.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee administration functions:Schedule crew (including time off)Handle employee complaints, questions and conflictsRun timecard and productivity reportsObserve, monitor, and evaluate work and safety methodsProvide proper training to all employeesRead, understand, and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports. Use these reports to evaluate company performance.Maintain proper documentation as required.Handle customer service issues and provide resolutionsBe available to receive phone calls from employees when away from work.Monitor inbound loads and coordinate truck movementEnsure product accuracy and quality in conjunction with inventory and quality control. Ensure efficient routing, while meeting customer expectations.Supervise inbound productProvide for the inspection of incoming product and accurate paperworkEnsure tie-high and pallet constraint accuracyRun ON-DOCK and IN-TRANSIT reports, follow up with inventory controlRun purchase order schedule in AM. Follow up with dispatch department.Oversee put away and replenishment processEnsure proper put away proceduresEnsure accurate product replenishment is done dailyPrint 80% replenishment sheets for lift truck operatorsOversee transfer truck selection of productEnsure accurate selection and staging of outbound productEnsure proper temperature of all trailer compartmentsDirects the planning of processes, methods and utilization of employeesDevelops and implements improvements in product handling practicesAnalyze and adjust manpower to account for business fluctuationEnsure appearance, maintenance and security of facility and equipmentOversee proper housekeeping methodsEnsure any necessary repairs of equipment or building or completed in a timely mannerSupervise the scheduling of order selection shiftCalculate nightly shipping volumeDetermine workforce requirements, assignments per employee, per departmentMonitor work flowEnsure employees follow all work and safety methods to complete the assignmentsMaintain a balance of employees in all areas to keep even flow of product to the dockMonitor loading dock and loading requirementsPerformance monitoringObserve pallet construction for built-rite and damageReview and post selection standards dailyReview and post mis-picks weeklyDiscuss concerns and ideas with employees on a daily basisEnsure all employees are in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other required agenciesEmployee ManagementParticipate in the hiring processParticipate in the employee review procedureParticipate in the disciplinary processEstablishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Company, and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:EducationHigh School Diploma or EquivalentExperience3-5 years'' experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment or equivalent combination of education and experience1+ years'' experience in a management or supervisor roleSkillsProficient in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and internet usageAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability write routine reports and correspondence as well as speak effectively before groups of customers and/or employees.Demonstrate proficiency in basic mathematical functionsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in various formsCertification, Licenses, RegistrationsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Food distribution background with familiarity of DOT regulations and compliance issuesExperience with OSHA and Food Safety requirements as well as employee safety programsPHYSICAL DESCRIPTION & WORKING CONDITIONS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to fop ouns and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Temperatures range from sub-zero to 80 degrees F depending on area of the warehouse and office.
