Our employees are not only part of history, they''re making history.Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems (PS) is seeking an Explosive Safety Engineer (ESO) to support its Promontory Utah location. The selected individual will be involved in a wide array of PSM covered processes involving solid rocket manufacturing including laboratories, research and development, and testing.Role description & Responsibilities:The Successful Candidate is responsible for:Primary responsibility is to support explosive site planning, updating, reviews and submission for approvals. This includes Energetic Facility (EFOSS) database and Facility Site Change Request administration.Knowledge and experience with DoD (Department of Defense) siting tools (ESS), explosive effects (thermal/fragment/overpressure) modeling/analysis.Support Propulsion Systems Energetic Safety Officer to serve as a liaison and assist with DCMA customer requests for information (RFI). Serve as a POC (point of contact) for Pre-Award, Post-Award, and Indemnification Surveys.Work with other disciplines (e.g., Engineering, Operations, Environmental, Occupational Medicine, Maintenance, etc.) to ensure implemented protocols are being followed.Assist in conducting training courses on related topics. This may be preparation of web-based training, or instructor led training.Reviewing process changes in work areas to assess additional risk and determine the appropriate levels of approval.Delivering presentations to all management levels to facilitate process change or summarize new processes.Developing team project milestones, provide updates and meet project deadlines.Assisting with management of the Energetic Safety Program by influence across all departments to develop, plan, schedule, complete, analyze, track and follow-up on process assessments, both independently and with groups.Additional assignments and areas of focus will vary, and work will be accomplished across all of Propulsion Systems. This position reports to the EHS Manager responsible for Promontory, Clearfield and KSC locations. Support of Energetic safety tasks will be at the direction of the PS Energetic Safety Officer. Some travel to other Propulsion Systems locations and possibly customer sites may be required. Professional training and certifications during the job will be identified and encouraged. This position will be located at the Promontory, Utah campus.Education/Certifications/ExperienceEducation: B.S. or MS in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related STEM field.Experience :5 years minimum with BS, 3 years with MSMay be filled as an Engineer 4 with minimum 9 years'' experience with BS, 7 years with MSTechnical Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and interacting professionally primarily with compliance regulators and customers.Experience and training with DoD, Navy, and NASA safety regulations.Experience in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventative Action determinationWorking knowledge of industrial (OSHA), DoD, Propulsion Systems and other safety requirements, documents, and standards.Experience leading team projectsMust be a US Citizen or PersonMust be able to pass an ATF Employee Possessor background checkAble to obtain Department of Defense Secret (S) security clearanceSalary Range: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USDSalary Range 2: $108,600 USD - $163,000 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
