As a JAVA SPRING DEVELOPER, you will be responsible for performing in a technical capacity in support of Emerson Commercial and Residential IT Digital HCL Commerce application development by way of delivering solutions in microservices, using Java and Spring in extension containers. This will require expertise in development, technical design, problem resolution, and communication. This role will require knowledge sharing with team members through various means, such as documented specs, diagramming, demonstrations, and verbal communication. This role will focus on delivering feature and functionality enhancement to our business platforms through our SAFe, scaled agile methodology. Development will follow SDLC practices of requirement gathering, design, implementation, testing (unit level and integrated), coordinated release planning for deployment/build, and maintenance/support through knowledge transfer with the application support team. The position will require occasional off-shift hours to ensure time zone overlap with US and offshore working hours. AS A JAVA SPRING DEVELOPER, YOU WILL: Be hands-on in developing eCommerce applications using HCL/WebSphere Commerce Suite. Utilize knowledge of recent HCL/WCS versions - V8 or later, including the latest feature packs. Demonstrate hands-on skills and expertise in the subsystems in HCL/WCS (ex: order, catalog, member, marketing, promotion, etc.) Utilize B2B and B2C store development experiences with extended sites model (emphasis on B2B). Have a strong understanding of the HCL/WCS runtime framework and be comfortable working with struts, spring. Have a strong understanding and hands-on experience in HCL/WCS key concepts, such as BOD, REST, SOA, and API. Utilize knowledge in SOLR integration and product search concepts. Utilize experiences with J2EE architecture and development, including servlets, EJBs, JMS, and JSP. Integrate HCL/WebSphere Commerce with Web Content Management Systems (CMS). REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, or related field Approximately three to five (3-5) years of experience in Java/J2EE Experience in designing and developing microservices using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and JPA Ability to design frontend using HTML5 and CSS, Bootstrap, JSPs, Javascript, jQuery, etc. Good knowledge of RDMBS Ability to write any testing framework, either Junit/Mockito Experience participating in user story grooming, design discussions, and proposing solutions Ability to practice the standard development process leveraging SAFe Agile methodologies Ability to review and analyze business requirements and provide technical feasibility and estimates Good written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, self-motivated, quick learner, team player, etc. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills Expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA, Spring Security, Git, JIRA, etc. Experience with object-oriented design pattern Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and microservices design pattern Experience working with containerized environments and DevOps tools, such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins/QuickBuild, GitHub, Pipelines, Azure DevOps, etc. Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role. Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm, but need to be flexible to interact with European and Asian business units outside of these hours on occasion.
