OverviewDr. Lindsay Talbot''s lab in the Department of Surgery at St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Researcher to join their team. The focus of Dr. Talbot''s group is to improve CAR T-cell therapy against osteosarcoma and other solid tumors with a specific focus on metastatic disease.The successful candidate will perform as a senior or lead research technician under Dr. Talbot''s guidance. He or she will work independently while supporting the rest of the lab''s initiatives and have experience with mammalian tissue culture, cloning, viral transduction, proliferation and migration assays, animal handling, and flow cytometry.As one of the premier pediatric research institutions in the world, St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital provides exceptional resources and a supportive environment for career development. In this position, you will interact with leaders in cancer and translational research within and outside the institution. This work is highly translational with the goal of introducing new CAR-T cell therapies into the clinic. The lab functions as an embedded part of the larger Bone Marrow Transplant and Cell Therapy translational laboratory, and therefore the candidate will be extensively supported by technical and postdoctoral researchers in a highly collaborative and collegial team.The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently on projects while supporting the rest of the lab''s initiatives, and have experience with tissue culture, transduction, proliferation and migration assays, animal handling, and FLOW Cytometry.ResponsibilitiesLab experimentationCell culture, viral transduction, cloning, subcloning, ELISAs, etc.Performing and interpreting the results of flow cytometry with assistance/training from the St. Jude Flow Cytometry Shared ResourceCAR-T therapy studiesHandling and maintenance of an immune-competent murine modelImmune system profiling and working with a unique osteosarcoma surgery model, etcApply to be a part of the mission of St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital: to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.
