Managed by United Surgical Partners International Joint Commission Accredited We are currently looking for a Sterile Processing Manager to join our clinical perioperative team. Job Summary: The Sterile Processing Manager has responsibility for supervising staff in accordance with policies, procedures, industry standards of practice, TJC standards, and per direction of Director of Perioperative Services. The manager continually seeks ways to promote efficiencies in the department operations and engages the staff in these discussions by promoting shared governance as well as enhancing communication throughout the departments. This individual assists in sterile processing technician roles to assist staff. The manager cares for and supervises maintaining all surgical instrumentation. The manager ensures adequate and efficient staffing development, staff competencies, and evaluations. They will coordinate with the Operating Room Director to ensure efficient sterile processing for all operating room cases. Also delegates and helps set up supplies and instruments for surgery cases. Supervises: Sterile Processing Department Supervisor, Sterile Processing Technicians Reports To: Director of Perioperative Services/Chief Nursing Officer Required Skills: Required skills: Must be a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician High School Diploma or Equivalent 2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician. Supervisory experience, preferred. Experience with all types of sterilizers. Knows operating room instrumentation. Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray. Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer. Understands Sterrad sterilizers. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects. Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families and vendors. Ability to prepare reports and keep records. Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
