Overview:Has senior responsibility for serving as primary support contact for Wealth Advisory clients and is responsible for daily management of specific client teams. The client relationship is determined by the complexity of the investment configuration, structure of trusts, and alternative investments (i.e. fund to fund, real estate). Serves as critical element in developing and completing (utilization of a wide range of Wilmington Trust products and services) relationships and accountable for client retention. Maintains constant communication with clients by telephone, email, written correspondence and in-person meetings, including the Private Client Advisor who participated in meetings as specified by the client. Analyzes the client''s current use of services and recommends other services that benefit the client. Serves as mentor and manager for a small group of Wealth Relationship Managers. Clients represent the largest and most important relationships for Wilmington Trust.Primary Responsibilities:Manage and participate in cultivating and retaining complex relationships with a base of clients, serving as primary support contact for services used by clients.Work closely as part of the Wealth sales team (Private Client Advisors, Private Banking and Fiduciary) to identify new business prospects and expand current relationships. Participate in developing new solutions to meet individualized client needs, identified through a needs analysis. Meet with internal partners, pre and post-call planning. Serve as expert resource to partners in the sales process.Ensure the development and implementation of a strategy for future growth of assigned client base and that of assigned staff, including identifying and closing revenue opportunities, expanding the relationship as well as referring external opportunities.Make appropriate recommendations that best meet the individual needs of the client; remain current on and articulate industry standards in area of expertise.Ensure coordination of activities with Relationship Managers in other areas of the organization to address client needs to develop and grow the business.Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of corporate policies and procedures.Maintain a high level knowledge of trust, planning, investment, credit and insurance disciplines.Provide and maintain appropriate levels of controls to minimize possible losses.Remain current on industry trends and represent the organization at all appropriate events.Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of various Bank resources to facilitate client service delivery and expand client relationships.Ensure the organizational structure and expertise staff members demonstrate are relevant to the business needs.Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.Understand and adhere to the Companys risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Companys Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as plete other related duties as assigned.Scope of Responsibilities:Education and Experience Required:Bachelors degree and a minimum of 9 years relevant experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 13 years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 9 years relevant experienceMinimum of 3 years managerial and/or work leadership experienceEducation and Experience Preferred:MBA (Masters degree in Business Administration)Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certificationFINRA Series 6, 7 and 63 licensesDemonstrated in-depth product knowledgeExcellent sales skillsExcellent relationship management skillsPrior trust planning, fiduciary or investment experienceLocationNew York, New York, United States of AmericaM&T Bank Corporation is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer, including disabilities and veterans.
