Be involved in projects with our Site Assessment and Restoration, Earth & Environmen Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients objectives and solves their challenges.Your ImpactField data collection in support of environmental investigations and hydrogeologic interpretation. This work may include geologic logging of boreholes, monitoring well installation, oversight of well hydraulic tests, preparation, installation, and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of field instrumentation for groundwater and surface water monitoring, soil and sediment sampling, and groundwater and surface water sampling and flow measurements.Review and analyze technical documents such as remedial investigation / feasibility studies, sampling and analysis plans for soil, water, and sediment, engineering design reports and cleanup action plans.Evaluate chemical and biological data resulting from sampling programs (soil, water, sediment).Coordination with drilling companies to arrange drilling and monitoring well installation programs.Coordination with testing laboratories on bottle orders and sample analyses.Preparation and operation of equipment in the field.Equipment calibration, maintenance, and teracting with subcontractors, members of the public, and clients.Working outdoors in all weather pliance with corporate Health & Safety and OSHA requirements.Preparing work plans, daily field reports, and field sampling logs.Perform Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments.Assisting with the tabulation, interpretation, and reporting of field data.Working with engineers, GIS specialists, and other environmental experts to contribute to larger multidisciplinary projects.Understanding the regulatory environment as necessary to successfully complete project work.Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSPs Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.Who You AreRequired QualificationsBachelors Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Geologist.Experience overseeing and logging drill cuttings from various drilling methods (e.g., direct-push, hollow stem auger, roto-sonic, air-rotary).An interest in environmental remediation, monitoring, and sampling.An interest in field data collection and instrumentation.Willing to operate and maintain field testing and monitoring equipment.Willing and able to travel both locally and internationally. Assignments may include travel to remote locations and outside work in various climates.Ability to support field programs with knowledge of proper sampling techniques and documentation of field data in a clear and organized manner.Desire to effectively communicate technical information to clients, regulators, and colleagues in a professional and responsible manner.All candidates must have excellent and demonstrated verbal and written communications skills.Strong commitment to quality and timely delivery of services.Strong interpersonal, team building, and critical thinking skills are essential.Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSPs health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.Must successfully complete and pass WSPs Motor Vehicle screening.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience overseeing drilling and groundwater monitoring well installation in Washington, Oregon, and/or IdahoPrevious work experience at environmental remediation sites, sediment remediation sites, and/or mine cleanup sites would be considered an asset; andPrevious Health and Safety training, such as OSHA HAZWOPER or MSHA preferred.LI-AC2Additional RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.
