Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for project work typically which has a substantial impact on the corporation / division. Responsible for project planning, project tracking, scope management, change control management, risk management, and quality assurance of the development project team. Develop complex program Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Establishes organization-wide project management strategies. Ensures projects are completed according to time and budget schedules, and that objectives conform to divisions overall standards and operations objectives and user requirements. Conducts complex program and project management assessments. Exhibits strong leadership skills and leads project teams. Manages the integration of project management within an organization resulting in culture change. Develops project management training classes and programs. Identifies new business opportunities. Acquires Walgreen product and business process knowledge from domain experts and use the information in every aspect of leading analysis, design and implementation efforts. Specifies requirements, scope level of effort, assess team member strengths and give work assignments with delivery dates in mind. Resolves project conflicts with affected management.This Sr. Project Manager role is on the Business side, but the project they will be managing will have centralized services, IT and construction components. Previous consulting experience is good because this role will interact with different levels of people, & the PM needs to know how to communicate with the various levels. Strong planning skills around communication is a plus as they will work closely with business leads & need to understand how communications need to work, which entails looping in legal, regulatory teams & other teams as needed. The ideal candidates will have strong experience w/ IT projects, centralized services, construction, financial management, & healthcare with a background in pharmacy, with mail order experience. However, strong PM skills are the main criteria for this position. The manager does not want a lot of short term positions in a candidates work history.Candidates need to be good at scheduling and running meetings; working closely w/ their assigned Business Lead(s) to run weekly team meetings & other meetings as needed for assigned projects. Manage the business team project schedule and communication plan for assigned projects. There will be multiple workstreams that will need to be set-up, communicated with, along with status reporting. Capture and/or track meeting notes, follow-ups/action items, risks, issues, decisions, and other project documentation in standard templates that are pre-defined for the project. Ability to capture accurate meeting notes on the computer screen/monitor while running a meeting. Work closely with the IT and other workstream leads on project schedule, budget, reporting, issues, risks, and any change requests for assigned projects. Work with finance team as needed on project budget and financial updates for assigned projects. Perform overall status reporting for assigned projects. Minimum RequirementsBachelors Degree and 8+ years of project management experience. Extensive experience developing project plan including charter, scope, project management approach, management plans, financial forecast and schedule. Creates detailed plans for consulting projects. Extensive experience in working with cross-functional teams and staff of all levels. Experience managing project budgets of at least $1M. Strong communication skills. Solid problem solving and analysis skills. Advanced skills in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.Experience with multiple project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, etc.Proven ability to concurrently manage multiple projects with cross functional workstreams. Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to capture accurate meeting notes (electronically) during a call/meeting, and capture/maintain accurate documentation Ability to communicate w/ all levels within an organization; Experience working with/reporting project status to Senior level leaders. Strong skills w/ PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams Familiarity w/ IT applications; Prior IT Project Management experience Ability to utilize standard program and project templates Healthcare experience Desired SkillsPMP certification Understanding of financial management of projectsKnowledge of Pharmacy and/or Pharmacy applications
