Watercraft Inspector - Ramsey County, MN

The Watercraft Inspector position serves to inform and educate the public to the threats of ecologically harmful aquatic invasive species (AIS) to Minnesota''s waters. Inspectors will undergo training of MN DNR protocols and perform thorough inspections on all entering or exiting watercraft at multiple lakes throughout Ramsey County. Inspectors will work at public water access sites educating the public by providing information to watercraft users and conducting a brief survey while inspecting watercraft for invasive species.Part Time Positions: Mid-May through SeptemberMust be available weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) This is a great job for students, teachers and ages 55+! Duties: Educate the public on the AIS program and current issues Inspection of watercraft for invasive species (inbound and outbound) Conduct verbal surveys Documentation of inspection activities Maintain current knowledge of best practices while inspecting watercraft Qualifications: Verbal communication and customer relations experience Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a professional manner Willingness to work outdoors in the various Minnesota weather conditions Willing to work weekends and holidays. Shifts will be on Friday''s, Saturday''s and Sunday''s within your availability.
