PLANNED PARENTHOOD SOUTHWEST OHIO REGIONJOB DESCRIPTIONPOSITION: Maintenance Technician DEPARTMENT: FacilitiesREPORTS TO: Director of Facilities/Security STATUS: Part-time, non-exemptUPDATED: September 2021JOB SUMMARY:Assists in maintaining all facilities for a professional appearance, prevention of losses, and protect against possible incidents and hazards. Collaborates with the Director of Facilities/Security on all facility maintenance, and housekeeping tasks. Performs in accordance with the agency''s expectations for customer service, teamwork, and interpersonal relations.The Facilities Technician is responsible for assisting with the day to day operations of the assigned building or buildings. Assisting with projects such as reconfiguring buildings, moving office space, and other light facilities functionsRESPONSIBILITIES:1. Provides a safe and comfortable operating environment by assisting in the direct installation, maintenance, and repair of office, medical, and utility equipment.2. Assists in overseeing preventative maintenance programs; follows manufacturing instructions; establishes repair and installation policies and procedures; troubleshoots malfunctions; coordinates trades people; maintains equipment inventory; evaluates new equipment; recommends whether to repair or replace. Performs repair and maintenance, as appropriate.3. Assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients and employees as set by security procedures and protocols.4. Assists in maintaining agency vehicle, including service, cleaning, licensing, etc. Assures security of vehicle and operation for agency needs.5. Assists in transporting supplies between centers and assists volunteers with lifting, hauling and storage of various items. 6. Assists in cleaning and maintaining grounds at health centers and specific cleaning assignments at buildings as specified. Some duties include painting surfaces, repairing door locks, minor plumbing, replacing light bulbs, organizing and maintaining storage areas, yard maintenance and parking lot cleanliness. 7. Provides assistance to other departments, as needed. 8. Performs other duties, as assigned by the supervisor. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Passionate commitment to PPSWO''s mission and values related to health equity, especially centering on racial equity, and a deep sense of accountability to community. Demonstrated understanding of the role that racial inequity plays in our society and its impact on healthcare systems and care delivery.• High school diploma or its equivalency required. Experience in facilities management preferred and must be proficient in principles and practices of facilities management.• Valid driver''s license, clean record for insurance purposes and access to a vehicle is required.Basic computer skills required, especially with regards to Outlook, Word, Excel and the internet.Ability to operate relevant security systems and equipment.Well-developed analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work well with all levels of staff, as well as external customers and vendors.Excellent relationship building and communication skills, including a high level of self-awareness, empathy, and humility in interpersonal interactions.Assertive individual who is able to exercise sound and independent judgment, with high ethical standards.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk; use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, reach with hands and arms; climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Must be able to move throughout the building and other PPSWO centers as needed throughout the day; must be able to drive to other PPSWO centers and meetings as needed. Must be able to speak English. Good visual and hearing acuity required; good verbal communication skills required.
