Job Description

The Relief Residential Counselor provides direct care to youth in one of YOU, Inc.s 24-hour/7-day-a-week acute or congregate care settings. To this end, the Relief Residential Counselor is part of a pool of staff that provides intermittent and/or seasonal staffing support as needed. The Relief Residential Counselor works as part of a shift of staff, led by a shift supervisor, all of whom are in a specific client to staff ratio, with the responsibility for creating and maintaining a therapeutic treatment milieu. Relief Residential Counselors are considered essential employees when they are on shift and as such may be mandated to work beyond their scheduled shift in order to maintain client - staff ratios and/or be required to report to work if they are scheduled to work during declared states of emergency.The Relief Residential Counselor insures the safety and supervision of youth, cultivates a therapeutic treatment milieu, maintains appropriate boundaries while developing supportive professional relationships with youth, participates in the upkeep and cleanliness of the facility, documents client care as required or directed, and if necessary, utilizes agency physical management interventions.**New Hire Sign-On Bonus: $500 ($250 paid after 6 months, $250 paid after 12 months of continuous employment.)*$250 paid towards student loans per year completed.Responsible for ongoing safety and supervision of youth within program setting.Responsible for maintaining appropriate boundaries with youth, families and collaterals.Responsible for maintenance and implementation of program policies and program development.Responsible for the general upkeep and cleanliness of the residential program facility/physical plant.Responsible for maintaining youth and shift documentation.Responsible for working with the youth / staff in a therapeutic milieu with hours dedicated primarily to acute-level and residential levels of care; and also flexibly adjusted to meet the residential and clinical needs in other Y.O.U., Inc. locations.Works with the entire team including direct care staff, clinical team staff, medical staff, and others to implement the established therapeutic treatment plan.Secures information such as medical, psychological, and social factors contributing to client''s situation, and evaluates these and client''s capacities.Helps client to modify attitudes and patterns of behavior by increasing understanding of self, personal problems, and client''s interactions with others.Documents all interactions with clients, compiles records and prepares progress notes, and maintains files in a confidential manner.Develop familiarity with all campus handbooks, including the staff handbook and all unit parent and youth handbooks.High school diploma or HiSET requiredMust be at least 21 years of ageMust have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation**One year of experience in residential setting with children and/or adolescents, preferredAbility to work independently, prioritize workload, complete a wide variety of tasks timely and accuratelyMust be able to perform sedentary aspects of position, including, but not limited to capability of fulfilling demands of driving/transporting youth several hours as necessaryMust be in relatively good health and be able to perform the duties listed above, including but not limited to, performing physical interventions and restraintsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions**This requirement may vary depending on the program needs.**Weekly COVID testing required at this program.ID: 23076 Schedule: As needed/per diem External Company Name: Seven Hills Foundation External Company URL: Telecommute: No
