We design, build, optimize and maintain high-performing facilities.Here is where you come in:We are currently seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join our high-performing Estimating team in Seattle. You will be joining an experienced and motivated group of people where you will have the opportunity to establish yourself as a key contributor to the team. As part of this team, you will work on exciting, complex, and large projects. To be successful, you must have a strong sense of ownership, be technically proficient, and possess excellent communication skills, as you will be collaborating with team members of all levels.You are great at:Estimating and Cost ControlTo be a top contributor, you must have a thorough understanding of the estimating process which includes a comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems and understanding the complete scope of projects. You will help support our platform sales and business development teams, project executives, special projects group, and other teams throughout McKinstry with comprehensive estimates throughout the life of a project. Also, you will have the ability to influence design with our engineering team and help identify risks with the project team at each of the estimating project milestones. Because of our wide range of customers including large commercial, life sciences, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, technology, etc. The size and complexity of the projects we work on varies and can range anywhere from $1M-$100M+.CollaborationTo be successful, you must be a collaborative team player and have a desire to help others succeed. Our ideal candidate is a self-starting decision maker who has excellent listening skills and extreme attention to detail. Excellent time management and organizational skills will help to ensure success in this role. You will be expected to clearly communicate the specific details of a project with the estimating team, engineers, and our sales and business development teams across the company.What we would like to see from you:Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent work experience preferredMinimum of 4 years of experience in estimatingKnowledge of mechanical systems and applicationsExperience with database estimating software including but not limited to Autobid Trimble Sheet Metal and Autobid Mechanical.Experience with budget management and cost control a plusExperience with design build and design assist projectsProficient in Excel and BluebeamWorking knowledge of SMACNA & MCAA Manuals and Labor Tables and how they apply to estimatingRevit, AutoCAD, and Assemble experience is a plusWhy McKinstry:Transformational change (requires bold action.
