Management/SupervisoryWHITE PLAINS HOSPITALLab AM/PM TechsFull TimeNight1130pm-7:30am Mon to Fri with rotating weekends and holidaysSummary:Supervises all operational and technical aspects of the laboratory during the night shift. Performs bench technologist duties in hematology, chemistry, blood bank and the accessioning/phlebotomy area as required. Responsible for the monthly schedule; in coordination with eve/night coordinator carries out performance reviews and other managerial duties as required. Performs other duties as assigned.Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:1. Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.2. Ability to apply knowledge of department and hospital policies and procedures.3. Attends staff meetings and in-services as requested/required.4. Completes annual competency requirements.5. Demonstrates ability to use all applicable LIS computer options.6. Completes payroll, monthly statistics, ordering and scheduling as required.7. Produces work free of technical and clerical errors.8. Notifies appropriate patient care areas of critical and stat results.9. Performs and documents preventive maintenance.10. Performs and documents QC and remedial action.11. Successfully performs external proficiency testing.12. Prioritizes workload and assigned tasks.13. Participates in the evaluation of new assays and instrumentation.14. Assists with the implementation of new policies, procedures.15. Training of new employees.16. Evaluates specimens and test results.17. Delegates effectively.18. Ability to resolve interdepartmental issues in a professional manner while prioritizing patient needs.19. Performs all other related duties as assigned.Education & Experience Requirements• New York State Medical Technologist License required.• B.S. degree in Medical Technology or related science with six years of relevant hospital experience.• ASCP or NCA certification preferred Baccalaureate Degree in Science (medical technology preferred)
