Serving with compassion.Position Summary:Performs the scrub role as a member of the Perioperative team. Assists the surgeon at the sterile field and the registered nurse during the surgical procedure. Functions as a member of a specialty team.Ability to work cooperatively with the surgical team. As a Technician II, demonstrates competency in the practice of advanced level case assignment and advanced level equipment. Acts as resource person for others in the department and actively participates in the preceptor role in the training of new personnel. Helps coordinate special instrument needs between SPD and the OR for each specialty.Reports To: Director/ManagerSupervises: NonePosition Requirements:Licensure/ Certification/Registration: * Certification as Surgical Technician * BCLS requiredEducation: * Completion of a certified surgical technician program.Experience: * Minimum of 2 years experience as a surgical technician in an acute care facility preferredSpecial Qualifications: * Demonstrates knowledge of autoclaves and sterilization modes. * Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology. * Demonstrates knowledge of the use of equipment, instruments, and supplies. * Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures and terminology. * Has ability to assess the developmental needs of patients from infancy to the elderly and modify care appropriately.We offer you an excellent total compensation package, including competitive salary, excellent benefit package and growth opportunities.
