For over thirty years, Mary''s Center has been a force in the D.C. non-profit community. Our growing behavioral health team is seeking a client-centered, trauma-informed professional with a special interest and ability to lead group therapy. This position is currently 100% remote but will eventually have a hybrid schedule that includes some clinic-based hours.About Our Team:Mary''s Center provides outpatient mental health and substance use treatment to a community mental health population. Our core services include psychotherapy, psychiatry, and community support services. As a team, we pride ourselves on being supportive to one another, and participant-centered and trauma-informed in our approach to clinical work. We have a growing number of generously grant-funded specialty mental health programs including: medication-assisted treatment; an early childhood mental health program; an integrated behavioral health team that works alongside medical providers in our clinics; and a perinatal mental health program. Mary''s Center is a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center as well as a Core Service Agency under the DC Department of Behavioral Health. Core Responsibilities:Core responsibilities of the Group Therapist include:Complete a needs assessment to identify group therapy topics and formats that would best serve our collaboration with individual therapists and the Intake team, recruit and screen group participants.Meet individually with group participants to complete a diagnostic assessment and treatment plan prior to entering the group.Plan and execute a variety of therapy groups, including but not limited to psychoeducation groups, affinity groups, support groups, and process groups, both virtually and face-to-face.Apply crisis management skills when necessary to stabilize participants.Participate in weekly individual supervision and group consultation.Provide clinical consultation and training to the team on effective group therapy practice.QualificationsThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:Excellent clinical skills, including the ability to lead engaging therapy groups to help clients forward their mental health goals.Energy, creativity, and enthusiasm.An interest in community mental health and working with clients with significant and complex social stressors.Solid knowledge of trauma and trauma-informed care.A strong understanding of structural oppression in all its forms, and an interest in contributing to Mary''s Center''s culture of radical inclusivity to clients of all identities.The ability to provide therapy in Spanish is ideal though not requiredCandidates must have an active license to practice psychotherapy in Washington, DC to be eligible for the position. Candidates with a LGSW or LGPC licensure will be provided clinical supervision. The Benefits: Twenty-five days of paid leave annually (in addition to paid holidays) plus five educational days to attend trainings and conferences.Eligibility for student loan repayment through the National Health Service Corps.Tuition reimbursement of $1200/year to attend trainings and conferences.Weekly group consultation with supportive dividual clinical supervision with an experienced community mental health therapist.
