Job Description

We are looking for a Project, Mid-Level Geologist with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of geology or environmental science to join our team currently serving both industrial and government clients. Field experience should include complete proficiency in soil logging and sampling, installation of soil borings and monitoring wells, and aquifer testing. Proven experience in performing hazardous waste site investigations and various types of sampling, including low-flow groundwater sampling, surface water, sediment, soil, subsurface vapor, and air sampling is desired; remediation experience is a plus. Experience performing Phase I and Phase II ESAs a plus. Field work often involves extended hours on site. Candidate must be able and available to travel via land and/or air and possess a valid drivers'' license in good standing. Travel required may be up to 75%. Position requires a minimum of 50 percent field work and/or travel including extended days of overnight travel. Travel throughout the State of GA is required. • The physical demands of this position require the ability to perform field work, including lifting and maneuvering of equipment and filled sample coolers, in a range of weather conditions. • Typical tasks will include independent field work planning, preparation, and management; drilling and monitoring well installation oversight; logging soil boreholes; remedial system implementation (e.g. subsurface injections) and knowledge of operation and maintenance; and report preparation including text, tables and figures. Field work will also consist of the collection and proper documentation of soil and groundwater samples to define the nature and extent of soil and groundwater contamination. • Responsibilities may include preparation of remedial investigation, remedial system design, feasibility studies, remedial action plans, groundwater monitoring plans and reports; cost estimating; and technical writing. Strong technical report writing skills are required. • Other responsibilities could include managing subcontracts, monitoring project cost and schedule performance; supervision of more junior personnel, and assisting in business development/marketing efforts as part of a team. • Other duties may be assigned as determined appropriate by the supervisor based on level of experience.Qualifications : Candidates must have a BS degree in geology or related technical discipline, and 3-5 years of experience. Experience with geologic, engineering, or general environmental projects and data interpretation is required. Experience should include characterization and remediation of hazardous waste sites. Field experience should include subsurface soil and groundwater sampling, drilling and well installation for hazardous waste site characterization, aquifer testing, remedial system installation, and system O&M 40-Hour OSHA training with Hazmat is required. 30-Hour OSHA Construction Contractor certification is a plus. First Aid and CPR training are a plus. Professional Geologist registration is a plus.
