POSITION TITLEDive SupervisorLOCATIONWoodcliff Lake, NJOVERVIEWThis position will be assisting a marine group that provides consulting services to clients throughout the United States. The principal function of this position is to be part of a team that evaluates marine structures through above and underwater engineering inspections. The Dive Supervisor will work with Team Members in the planning and execution phases of a project, as required, and will be ultimately responsible for the safety of the entire dive team. Other duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining and repairing diving equipment, mentoring dive staff, and ensuring that the contents of the McLaren Safe Diving Practices Manual are adhered to and regularly updated.RESPONSIBILITIESEstablishes the logistics, mode of operations, and work approach for a task, in collaboration with the Project Engineer, to maximize safety and productivity;Works collaboratively with the inspection team;Ensures dive operations are conducted from a suitable and safe location;Prepares and approves dive safety plans;Maintains all diving related equipment and verify that it is set up properly to maximize safety;Ensures that all team members are familiar with emergency procedures before work begins;Conducts daily inspections of all equipment on a job site;Conducts site investigations as part of an Inspection Team;Works collaboratively with all members of the Dive Group; andPerforms other duties as required.QUALIFICATIONSADCI or equivalent Dive Supervisor Certification;3 years minimum dive experience;A working knowledge of ADCI, USCG, OSHA, and regional regulatory requirements;A thorough knowledge of emergency procedures;Proficient in all modes of diving, and able to troubleshoot and properly maintain equipment;Physically capable of performing continuous field work including working in close quarters, boat and water operations, climbing, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc.;Ability to work effectively as part of a team;Strong attention to detail;Strong verbal communication skills;Good planning, organizational and time management skills;Legal ability to work in the U.S.Physically capable of performing continuous field work including working in close quarters, boat and water operations, climbing, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc.Familiarity with ASCE Waterfront Facilities and Assessment Manual and NHI bridge inspection guidelines.Ability to obtain, or currently holds a valid TWIC Card.Ability and willingness to travel as required.Waterfront and/or bridge inspection experience preferredBoat Operator License preferredNHI Underwater Inspection certification preferredBENEFITSHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insurance401(k) + matchingPaid time offSummer FridaysEmployee stock ownership planTuition reimbursementProfessional development stipendReferral programBonus pay Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
