We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION:Is responsible for general kitchen sanitation and washing of pots and dishes in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Head Cook,Team Leader, and/or Executive Chef, to assure quality services is provided at all times.Sets up dish machine. Fills pot sinks. Washes dishes, glasses, and silver.Washes pots and pans. Maintains areas in a clean-as-you-go condition.Checks trash cans continuously. Removes and buses dish racks.Keeps dish and pot area orderly and clean.Returns clean dishes and pots to proper storage areas.Sorts silverware frequently.Breaks down dish machine and cleans.Cleans and organizes pot sink.Promotes clean, safe and neat environment for residents, self and staff.Demonstrates knowledge of fire safety procedures, and assists with evacuation of residents to safe location in the even of fire or other emergency.Cooperates with staff of other departments in performing job duties. Performs other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.Capable of understanding and following policies, regulations and safety, sanitation and security rules and practices.NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option.
