Visit for more information and follow us on Twitter at @essenceglobalAbout the role As a Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of business critical global/regional projects and day-to-day management of operations and work quality. We''re looking for intelligent people who can passionately represent Essence, ensure outstanding delivery to the client, and create opportunities for our relationship to blossom. Some of the things we''d like you to do: Delivering Projects: Lead the delivery of global/regional projects of medium-to-high impact Develop clear scopes of work with oversight and input from your manager Develop detailed project plans that map back to scope of work. Manage cross-location and cross-discipline project team in line with the milestones within the project plan Recognize and identify change management principles, with consultation and support from more senior members of the team Identify potential risks and issues within a project With support from your manager, effectively push back on stakeholders when requirements of a project put us at risk of not delivering quality work, minimizing disruption Provide regular input into the ongoing development of project management and change management best practice within the business, balancing best-in-class approaches with pragmatism Maintain a close working relationship with the client so that you can effectively communicate the financial status of the account at a campaign and/or project level Operations & Work Quality Maintain an up-to-date view of work quality and adherence to the operating model processes with oversight from your manager Develop strong relationships with people within regional disciplines, to regularly measure work quality and adherence to processes, quality standards and way of working Have a good understanding of the way the business operates within the disciplines Identify and resolve work quality issues of low-to-medium business impact, identify root cause of the issue and provide a solution Support people at the Associate Director level down Driving Strategic Thinking & Priorities Contribute smart and thoughtful observations and recommendations you make about the business. Develop strong and supportive relationships with regional discipline leadership Develop a deep understanding of the current-state of business to drive productive conversations and decision-making Deliver strategic thinking that could benefit the business on a regular basis Understand medium-to-high impact business problems/opportunities with guidance from your manager. Managing Business Performance Collaborate with peers from Finance, Resource Management, Talent Acquisition and Talent Development & Culture to understand and overcome challenges that stand in the way of smooth-running operations Responsible for projects and/or client/business portfolio between $5-20M in annualized media revenue Determine with great accuracy financial forecasts and resource plans that map to those forecasts based on the agreed to scopes of work. Analyze financial results on an ongoing basis and effectively communicate the relevant analysis to the leadership team on the business Determine % completes for all projects and determine best course of action for those projects where % completes don''t map to dollars burned Effectively report and manage margins goals (annually and quarterly). Communicate the internal and external view of project or account-wide financials Mange hours allocated, hours burned, remaining hours Scope work from simple to the most complex projects or retainers and provide assumptions associated with each scope Team Leadership Develop and manage strong relationships with internal clients at all levels Manage external vendors and create communication plan and process for working that ensures the success of the project Deliver constructive negative and positive feedback to team members and when needed outline and facilitate performance improvement plans. Mandates team compliance to standards/processes (values, GDPs, timesheets, etc.) Lead Client Operations initiatives in partnership with Operations leadership Actively participate in junior level recruiting and staffing Identify shared learning opportunities A bit about yourself: You are savvy and you have experience managing mid- scale project teams You''re likely to have 5+ years experience with a proven track record in business operations and/or project management You have deep experience in digital project management You''re armed with an active interest in how innovation and technology areis driving change in digital marketing and a real desire to be a part of that innovation You have outstanding analytical capabilities Interpersonal, team building and relationship management skills Written communication, presentation, influencing and negotiation skills Motivate and develop teams Make decisions and resolve problems quickly and effectively Strong organizational skills to effectively manage smooth flow of work through Time management and the ability to determine priorities and delegate A thirst for new learning and a drive to develop new approaches which further Tact, diplomacy, maturity in relating and interacting with people at all levels What you can expect from Essence Essence''s mission is to make advertising more valuable to the world.
